Gregory Gilbert Perrault

August 21, 1955 — February 26, 2021

GREG G. PERRAULT, 65, of Hugo, MN, passed away on February 26, 2021. He was at home, watched over by his wife and children.

Greg was born in Washington state and grew up in Southern California. He attended Northern Arizona University where he studied Forestry and met his wife of 43 years, Judi, whom he called Ju-Bear. He subsequently went to Orange Coast College where he obtained a certificate of completion in electronics, completing the program in half the time expected.

Greg lived as much of his life out-of-doors as possible, including backpacking in the Grand Canyon and on the John Muir Trail. He was also an avid student of American history and enjoyed visiting historic sites, especially forts and battlegrounds. These two passions led him to travel the United States widely, taking him to 50 National Parks and all 50 states.

Greg is survived by his wife, Judi and their seven children: Philippe (Joanne), Lesley (Casey), Jourdain (Ashlee), Lisette (Todd), Étienne (Maggie), Mathieu (Brittany) and Jacques, as well as six grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Fred, and sisters Sara and Denise. He is preceded in death by his mother, Naomi.

He was known to all as a sportsman and a craftsman. He could often be found working on projects ranging from home improvement to general mechanics to personal interests such as loading his own ammunition. He was diversely talented and was always willing to lend a hand or give advice on any questions anyone had on the right way to do something.

A service will be held on Monday, March 1, at Rockpoint Church in Lake Elmo, MN at 9:00 AM. The family requests donations towards Leukemia research in lieu of flowers.
