Gordon Dumdei

August 26, 1921 — April 13, 2018

Gordon Dumdei, 96 year old resident of Blue Earth and formerly of both Waseca and Janesville died peacefully Friday morning, April 13, 2018 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 19th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Larry Griffin and Rev. Paul Muther officiating. Interment will be in Smiths Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to donors choice.
Gordon Dumdei was born August 26, 1921 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, to Frank and Augusta (Sievert) Dumdei. He was baptized September 18, 1921, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville by Pastor Martin Winter. He renewed his baptismal vows through confirmation on April 14, 1935, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville by Pastor Otto Krause.
He married LaJune Ziemke on February 19, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Smiths Mill by Rev. Netzke. Gordon and his wife farmed the family farm. In 1946, he started working at Sieverts Jewelry Store in Waseca. In 1956, Frank Stewart and Gordon bought Sieverts Jewelry Store. After retiring in 1982, Gordon and June moved to West Twin Lake, north of Brainerd. Together they shared 43 years of marriage before June died on September 2, 1987. They had three children: Darla Hansen, Donna (Marlin) Krupp and Gary Dumdei, three grandchildren: Joel (Katie) Hansen, Daun Rae (Jim) Egli and Kimber (Ben) Austin; three great grandchildren: Jace and Jodin Hansen and Ayden Austin.
On September 17, 1988, Gordon married Ella Stubbs, who had three children Wayne Stubbs, Neal (Deborah) Stubbs and Chery (Harold) Lovell. Her children live in Florida where Ella and Gordon spent six months of the year while spending the other six months in Janesville. Ella passed away on July 25, 2015. Gordon was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. His hobbies included golf, fishing, hunting and landscaping. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Blessed be his memory.
Gordon was survived by his children: Darla Hansen, Donna (Marlin) Krupp; three step-children, Neal (Deborah) Stubbs, Wayne Stubbs & Cheryl (Harold) Lovell, three grandchildren: Joel (Katie) Hansen, Daun Rae (Jim) Egli and Kimber (Ben) Austin; three great grandchildren: Jace and Jodin Hansen and Ayden Austin; siblings: Marvin Dumdei and Ruth Locke; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife June Dumdei, his second wife Ella Stubbs Dumdei; son, Gary Dumdei; brothers: Eugene and Everett Dumdei; and many other loved ones and friends.
