Gertrude Baer, age 95, of Pemberton, died Wednesday morning, October 2, 2019, at her home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freedom Township, Waseca County. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Gertrude Evelyn Baer was born on June 30, 1924, the only child born to August and Lydia (Possin) Bluhm, in Pemberton. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth all at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Gertrude was a 1942 graduate of Pemberton High School. On October 26, 1943, Gertrude was united in marriage to Raymond Baer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freedom Township. Together they lived on a farm near Buffalo Lake for a short time before moving to Waseca and in 1951, they built their home in Pemberton where their raised their six children. Gertrude and Raymond shared 64 years of marriage before Raymond passed away in 2008.
In her early years of marriage Gertrude was a dedicated farm wife. She later worked at Lewis East Gate Drug and later as a home health care aid at Mankato Lutheran Home and Prairie River as a CNA. Gertrude was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active with the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed watching soap operas, crossword puzzles, flowers and mainly shopping, especially at Herbergers. Gertrude is remembered for her delicious meals she would prepare for her family and the love she had for each one of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild. Blessed be her memory.
Gertrude is survived by her sons: Dennis, Jim (Linda) and Douglas (Candi) all of Pemberton; daughters: Sharlou Quiram of Pemberton, Betty (Glen) Henderson of Rio Verde, AZ, and Heidi (Mark) Hummer of Mapleton; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and step grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Carl and Esther Baer; son-in-law, Dale Quiram; daughter-in-law, Janet Baer; brother-in-law, George Baer; sisters-in-law: Bonita Clark and Bea Baer.
