GERALD J. "JERRY" JEWELL, age 75 of Waterville, died at his home on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Born on July 13, 1940, Jerry was the son of Marcella (Slechta) Jewell. He attended school in Waterville before serving his country overseas as a member of the US Army. Over the years, he owned and operated Sakatah Marine, worked for the Waterville Street Department, was the Transportation Supervisor for WEM Schools, and most recently drove bus for Clemmons Bus Lines in Waseca. Jerry was a Scout Master for many years and loved taking his Troops to summer camp where he could pass on his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing, cutting wood, socializing with friends and family, and playing cards. Jerry also put thousands of miles on his motorcycles and trikes over the years, having visited countless states on his many tours.
Jerry is survived by his close family, Kathy (Slechta) Morse of Rice Lake, WI; and her children and their families, Crystal Hakari of Eau Claire, WI, Bridget Imrick of Rice Lake, and Roger Morse of Rice Lake who always knew him as "Uncle Jerry"; one uncle, Leo Slechta; and one aunt, Alice Slechta both of Waterville; and many cousins; friends; former co-workers; and former Boy Scout acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marcella and his step-father John Bock.
Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny, with Rev. Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.
