Gayle K. Thissen October 29, 1948 - October 9, 2014

Gayle K. Thissen, age 65 of Mankato and formerly of Janesville, MN, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Laurel''s Peak in Mankato, following an extended illness.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Interment will be held at St. Ann''s Catholic Cemetery in Janesville, MN.

Arrangements are being completed by the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville.

Gayle Kathleen, the daughter of Ignatious and Irene (Cahill) Thissen, was born on October 29, 1948 in Waseca, MN. Because of health reasons Gayle lived in numerous care facilities for most of her life. She lived the past 7 years at Laurel''s Peak in Mankato. One of Gayle''s passions was knitting and she would knit the most beautiful afghans that she would give to her family. She also enjoyed embroidery and was a great mathematician.

She is survived by her five brothers; Ray (Rosie) Thissen of Waseca, MN, Dick (Anna) Thissen of Kenyon, MN, Tom (Dianne) Thissen of Janesville, MN, Jerry Thissen of California and Mike (Karen Heinke) Baynes of Prior Lake, MN and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Thissen and an infant sister.
