GARY PAUL PITTMANN, age 74 of Waterville, died on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Traditions in Waterville.
Born in St. Paul on May 16, 1943, Gary was the son of Charles and Leona (Slechta) Pittmann. He went to grade school in Morristown before going on to attend the Ag School in Waseca. Gary served his country in the United States Navy before returning home to marry Sandra McColley on August 28, 1965. He worked for a short time as a police officer in Waterville before beginning his 40+ year career at Brown Printing in Waseca. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, and he enjoyed hunting, traveling, John Deere tractors, spotting deer and other wildlife, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. His family will also fondly remember Garys love for driving scenic "Loop Roads".
Gary is survived by three children, Michelle (Mark) Barnett of Kilkenny, Brian Pittmann of Waterville, and Kim (Cardell) Johnson of Rockford; his mother, Leona Pittmann of Waterville; ten grandchildren, Tasha (Mike) Mladek, Nicole Barnett, Jessica (Matt Gallagher) Barnett, Danielle Barnett, Paige Pittmann, Libby Johnson, Kylie Pittmann, Maggie Johnson, Robbie Johnson, and Sadie Johnson; ten great-grandchildren, Seth, Tyson, Avah, Rhiley, Paetyn, Brynlee, Jalynn, Huxlie, and Lylah (due this March). He is also survived by four siblings, Karen (Keith) Stangler of Byron, Marcia Osterberg of Blaine, Kathleen (Joe) Shikonya of Onalaska, WI, and Mark (Connie) Pittmann of Morristown. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, with Rev. Michael Ince officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
