Gary L. Olson, age 70, of Waseca, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, MN. Interment will be held at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Odin, MN.

Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services.

Gary Lynn, the son of Ernest and Gladys (Lenning) Olson, was born on March 26, 1942 in St. James, MN. Gary attended school in Odin and St. James, MN. On May 4, 1963 he was united in marriage to Wanda Hansen at the Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, MN. After their marriage they lived in Odin and Gary worked at the Odin Feed Mill until they moved to Arizona for a short time. Later they returned to Minnesota and lived in Ormsby. Gary began a 40 year career as a machinist, working at S.T. Industries in St. James, Winegar Inc. in Waseca and Viracon in Owatonna, from which he retired. Gary enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Gary also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, camping and watching the Minnesota Twins.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Olson of Ormsby, MN; by four children, Angie Olson of Omaha, NE, Amy (Dale) Tonne of Fairmont, MN, Scott Olson of Ormsby, MN and Annie Olson of Mankato, MN; by four grandchildren, James Tonne, Luke Tonne, Amber Tonne and Jackson Pooley; by his sister, Nancy (Roger) Braaten, Butterfield, MN and by nieces and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two children.
