Francis "Frank" Leonard Murphy

FRANCIS “FRANK” LEONARD MURPHY, age 87 formerly of Waseca died on January 19, 2022 in Long Beach, California.

Born on June 18, 1934 in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of Cletus and Ethel (Dragoo) Murphy. Frank was a 1952 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waseca. He married Nancy Mae Peterson in September of 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and they were later divorced. He worked as a laborer constructing bridges and highways for a time before his health forced him to retire. Frank enjoyed walking and weightlifting. He enjoyed talking about sports, especially football.

He is survived by two sons, Scott Murphy of Fort Worth, Texas and Craig Murphy of Waseca; one sister, Patricia Meyer of Maple Plain; one brother, James (Gail) Murphy of Sun City, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Murphy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Visitation will be held on Saturday, one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
