Florence E. Magner, age 99, of Lake City and formerly of Waseca, died peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Lake City Nursing Home in Lake City, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Peter Klein, Celebrant. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Waterville. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at church. There will be a 10:15 Catholic Daughter Rosary Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements are being completed by the McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory of Waseca. Florence Evangeline, the daughter of John and Sidney (Healy) Dawald was born on February 26, 1911 in Waterville, Minnesota. She attended the Waterville Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1929. Florence continued her education at the Minneapolis Business College, graduating in 1931. On November 7, 1936, Florence was united in marriage to LeRoy Magner at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville. He preceded her in death in January 1993. Florence was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca and the Tekawitha Circle, the Catholic Daughters of America Court Sacred Heart #1424, and the Waseca Area Senior Citizens Center. Florence enjoyed playing bridge with many friends and family members in her spare time. She moved to Lake City in 2005 to be closer to her family. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ann (Bob) DeFrang of Sparta, Wisconsin, Mike Udenberg of Stewartville, MN, Linda (Ray) Cobb of Rochester, John (Dawn) Udenberg of Rochester, Eric Udenberg of Rochester and Pat (Robin) Udenberg of Lake City, MN; great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy, and her daughter Barbara Udenberg; by her parents, two sisters, and her brother.
