Florence Behsman December 21, 1921 - June 27, 2011

Florence Lucille Behsman, age 89 formerly of Owatonna, MN died on Monday, June 27th at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Waterville, MN. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1st at 11:00 am at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake with Pastor Mary Iverson, officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Friday for one hour prior to services at the church. Florence Lucille Behsman was born on December 21, 1921 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Harvey and Margaret (Arndt) Peterson, and was their only child. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1940. Florence was united in Marriage to Herman Marcus Behsman on September 10, 1940 at the Associated Church in Owatonna. She and Herman farmed and raised their family in Wasioja Township, Dodge County. Florence was a homemaker and enjoyed helping with the family farm. In 1972, Florence and Herman moved back to Owatonna. For many years they enjoyed spending their winters in Bradenton, Florida. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage before Herman passed away. She especially enjoyed attending her class reunions (71 years) and visiting with her friends. In 2009 Florence moved to Traditions in Waterville. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her only child, Larry (Mary) Behsman of Elysian; by her two grandsons, Thomas (Michelle) Behsman of Madison Lake and Troy (Lisa) Behsman of Cleveland; by her 5 great-grandchildren. William Behsman, Michael Behsman, Jack Behsman, Allison Behsman and Brook Behsman; by her 2 brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Herman in 1995.
