Evelyn C. (Mrs. James) Paquette, age 89 of Faribault, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at the District One Hospital in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Sacred Heart in Faribault, with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services. Evelyn Cecelia Moravec, the daughter of Frank and Amalia (Simon) Moravec, was born on May 7, 1920 in Bixby, MN. In October of 1944, she was united in marriage to Ben Walderon at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. Mr. Walderon preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1966. On June 26, 1968 Evelyn married James Paquette at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Antioch, CA. As a young woman, Evelyn worked at the Faribault Woolen Mill making blankets then moved to San Diego, CA during World War II and worked as a riveter at Consolidated Air Craft. Evelyn also worked as a clerk at Grant''s Department Store in Antioch, CA. Later she moved back to Faribault and worked at many businesses including, Farmer Seed and Nursery, Clarine''s Greenhouse, Paul Bunyan South and McQuay''s. Evelyn enjoyed making crafts, gardening, trips to the casino, playing cards and bingo and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband James Paquette of Faribault; by three children, Mardelle "Mardi" Walderon of Faribault, Marlyn "Jean" (Bill) Weierke of Farmington, MN and Len Walderon and fiance Doreen Johnson of Randall, MN; by her brother, Don (Mary) Moravec of Ladysmith, WI; by her sister, Marion (Alan) Forcelle of Parkman, Wyoming; by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, by her grandson Lance Weierke and by three brothers, Richard, Leo and Victor Moravec.
