Evelyn E. "Betty" Durand, age 92, of Faribault, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services. The family prefers that memorials be directed to St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital in memory of Evelyn. Evelyn Eunice Stadler, the daughter of Peter and Eleanor (Rainey) Stadler, was born on October 1, 1919 in Faribault. On May 7, 1935 she was united in marriage to Ernest Durand at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. After their marriage and starting their family, Evelyn stayed at home and raised their children. Mr. Durand preceded her in death on July 5, 1985. Evelyn was very dedicated to her family and enjoyed all of their family gatherings and any time that she could spend with them. She also enjoyed playing cards. She is survived by 8 children, Lois Patwell of Eau Claire, WI, Jean Durand of Kasson, MN, Judy (Don) Chester of Faribault, Diane Barnett and friend Ambrose Thomas of Faribault, Sandy (John) Ross of West Springfield, MA, Darlene Ashleson of Faribault, Jerry (Barbara) Durand of Faribault and Marge (Dave) Lovaas of Faribault; by 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; by 2 sisters-in-law, Phyllis Stadler of Faribault and Florine Fuchs of Sartell, MN; by a brother- in-law, John Gillen of Faribault and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, by 2 sons-in-law, Don Patwell and Paul Kitch and by 7 brothers and 6 sisters.
