Evangeline R. Zick, age 96, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2015, at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church

Arrangements are being completed with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Evangeline Rosetta was born on April 20, 1918, in Watertown, SD, to Edward and Nellie (Jones) Schoenrock. Vangie grew up in Browns Valley, MN. In 1935, she moved to Ortonville, MN to be with her sister Ann and her family. There she met Lyle Zick. They were married on October 4, 1937, in Milbanks, SD. She lovingly raised their three children while working. In 1947 they moved to Faribault.

She was a strong, hardworking, and gentle woman who loved her God and her family. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, bingo, and holiday time with family and friends. She and Lyle were active in the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles until Lyle passed away in 1990.

At age 92, Vangie moved from Golden Meadows Apartments to Heritage House Elder Care. She was very happy there with her new friends, residents, and staff. Her family thanks all her caregivers there and at Pleasant Manor where she lived four months until her death. They were wonderful.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Marla Rae (Don) Montbriand and Gary "Bud" (Mary) Zick; her nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild;

and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Sr.; parents, Edward and Nellie; on, Lyle "Skeets" Zick Jr.; six brothers, Harold, Lyle, Arnold, Mylo, Kenneth, and LaVerne Schoenrock; three sisters, Ann Thomas, Larraine Ryberg, and Gladys in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church or to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Faribault.
