Ella D. Krenke
ELLA DANEA KRENKE, age 91 of Waseca, died peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Ella was born in Otisco Township, Waseca County on March 9, 1924, the daughter of Paul and Ella (Rudolph) Roeglin.  She was the third of five children.  She was baptized on April 13, 1924 by Rev. Geo H. Vollmer at the old St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  She was confirmed on April 10, 1938 by Rev. Theo H. Hennings at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  She attended rural Waseca County School District #46 (the Otisco school) through eighth grade.
Ella married Harvey Krenke on July 11, 1945, at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca by Rev. Walter J. Pilgrim.  They lived and farmed in Otisco Township until moving to Waseca in 1972.  Though she never worked outside the home, she worked hard on the farm from sun up until long after sun down.  She was the typical farmers wife, helping with everything and raising chickens and other poultry, growing huge vegetable gardens, canning and freezing produce.  She was known to have picked four dishpans of strawberries, butchered a chicken, and served these at the noon dinner to men working on their farm!  She was very thrifty, always putting others before herself.  She loved flowers of every type and planted them everywhere, having kept some growing for over 60 years.  Even though she had several health issues in later years, she lived in her own home until a few months ago.  When her eyes failed her, she still listened faithfully to her Twins baseball.  She loved visiting on the telephone spending many happy hours with family and friends.  She had the gift of remembering events in the past to the tiniest details.  Her strong faith has been a great example to her family.
She will be sadly missed by two daughters, Darla (Larry) Kokoschke of Faribault, and Donna (Terry) Ewert of Delano; one son, Duane Krenke of Waseca; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Paul and Ella (Rudolph) Roeglin; her husband of 59 years Harvey Krenke in 2005; three brothers, Gerald Roeglin in 1991, Orville Roeglin in 2007, and Robert (Jean) Roeglin in 2013; and one sister, Helen (Walter) Suemnick in 1997.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. John Omans officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial donations to the St. John Lutheran Church video fund.
