Edith J. Wittrock, age 100 of Waseca, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Lake Shore Inn of Waseca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. There will be a 5:00 P.M. Catholic Daughter Rosary prayed Friday afternoon at the funeral home. Edith Julia Wittrock was born in Mankato Minnesota on January 6, 1912 to George and Frances (Wagner) Hiniker. On September 28, 1937 she married Herbert Wittrock and they lived in Mapleton until 1945 when they moved to Waseca and became members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Upon her death, at age 100, she was the oldest parishioner in Sacred Heart parish. Edith was also a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Court Sacred Heart #1424, Catholic Aid Association, Winona Council of Catholic Women, St. Agnes Circle, and the Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life. She was a homemaker who loved flower gardening, cooking, and time spent with family and friends. She is survived by her children, Marvin ( Nancy) Wittrock of Appleton, WI, Gerri (Jim) Walton of Nahant MA, Donna (Patrick Ahern) Wittrock of Golden, CO, Marlene Wittrock Culpepper of Richmond, VA and Patricia Wittrock of Chaska, MN as well as three grandchildren, Jeffery (Deb) Wittrock, Steven (Sue) Wittrock and Daniel Culpepper and one great granddaughter, Anna Marie Wittrock. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Hiniker of Mankato MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, her youngest daughter, Mary, and 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Memorials in Edith''s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
