Douglas A. Yentsch, age 60, of Janesville, MN, died suddenly on July 18, 2014, due to a water related accident at Lake Nichols near Canyon, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville, with Fr. Chinnappa Pothireddy, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Ann Church Cemetery in Janesville.

Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements are with the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may designated to St. Ann Catholic Church or for Masses in memory of Doug.

Douglas Allen was born on November 27, 1953 in Blooming Prairie, MN, to Donald and Elayne (Knutson) Yentsch. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1971 and then Faribault Vo-Tech for drafting. Later, Doug graduated from Mankato State with a degree in accounting. The early part of his career involved working at Coldwell Banker, a management position with the Happy Chef franchise, and King Co. in Owatonna as a draftsperson. Over the years he obtained his MBA from Southwest State. Doug made his career in educating and speaking related to accounting. He held positions at St. Peter''s and Paul''s Church in Mankato, Region Nine Development Commission, Braum Accounting in Mankato, and teaching at Rasmussen Business College. Currently he was an accounting professor at South Central College, was a speaker worldwide for the National Association of Tax Professionals, and was self-employed in providing tax services for businesses and individuals.

Doug married Marilyn Eustice on June 28, 1975 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville and they had two daughters, Lisa and Jena. Educating others was a priority for Doug,

which included the Junior Achievement program teaching youth about money management and speaking at Waseca High School about career choices. He was instrumental in the MVAC program overseeing students in providing free tax service for lower income families. Doug served for several years on the Janesville School Board until 2002. He also was very involved with St. Ann Church, as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, the Adoration Chapel, and religious education teacher. He also was a member of the Irish/American Association of Southern Minnesota.

Doug enjoyed gardening, reading, and music. His music interest included attending marching bands shows with his grandsons, playing the accordion, and was teaching himself to play the guitar. Doug was the life of the party and enjoyed being with his friends. He enjoyed entertaining others in his role in Janesville''s HeeHaw. Most of all, Doug cherished his time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn of Janesville; daughters, Lisa (Jason) Dudley of N. Mankato, and Jena (Chad) Schoenrock of Janesville; two grandchildren, James and Ivan Schoenrock; his father, Donald Yentsch of Blooming Prairie; sister, Denise (Larry) Brekke of Owatonna; brothers-in-law, Ed (Chris) Eustice, Jim (Sheri) Eustice, and Jack (Mona) Eustice; sister-in-law, Carol (Mike) Jewison; several nieces and nephews he was very close to; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elayne Yentsch; brother, Dennis Yentsch; and father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Eileen Eustice.
