DOROTHY JEANETTE MATZ, our dear mom, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Traditions II in Owatonna. Although we offer this news with great sadness, we are glad to say that she ended her 97 blessed years on this earth surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 20, 1918 in New Richland, Dorothy was the daughter of Hans and Bettie (Garrard) Hanson. She was a long-time member of First Congregational Church in Waseca where she was active with the Ladies Friendly and as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading, dancing, playing cards and bingo, and she also enjoyed various forms of needlework, making gifts for friends and family. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and she made the best deviled eggs youve ever had.
