Dorothy, the oldest daughter of Philip and Grace (Swanson) Davis was born in Granville, New York on June 6, 1942.  She finished high school by correspondence while in Brazil with her parents and siblings.  Dorothy graduated with an English Teachers degree from Tennessee Temple College.  She taught English in Brazil a short time before returning to the United States.  While in Wisconsin, she fell in love with Roger Nordaas and they were married on June 12, 1971.  Together they have two children and four grandsons.  Throughout their married life, Roger and Dorothy served with New Tribes Mission in the Amazon Basin of Brazil until July of 1993.  Some years were in pioneer missionary work and the last eight years she was a teacher and house parent with her husband to missionary children.
Dorothy was a very gifted lady.  She was a teacher, gifted cook, and thoroughly enjoyed studying the Bible on her own and with others.  She also had a good sense of humor.  She will be greatly missed by her family, very close friends and was gracious to all.
She is survived by her husband, Roger of Waseca; son, Benjamin (Holly) Nordaas of Largo, FL and Kristi Nordaas of Waseca; four grandsons, Daniel, Joshua, Jonathan and Luke Nordaas.  She is also survived by one brother, Harold (Connie) Davis of Sanford, FL; four sisters, Pearl (Bill) Bruffett of New Port Richey, FL, Joy (Mike) Beach of Jackson, GA, Lois (Wayne) Hampton of Flagstaff, AZ and Esther (Dan) Brewington of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lorna Davis.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 4-7 PM and will continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.
A celebration of Dorothys life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Christ Community Church in Waseca.
Dorothy was more than ready to go into eternity in the arms of Jesus her very precious friend and Lord Jesus Christ.
