Dorothea 'Dottie' Wondrow July 25, 1931 - July 24, 2014

Dorothea "Dottie" Wondrow, age 82, of Faribault, MN, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the St. Lucas Care Center of Faribault.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Craig Breimhorst, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Blooming Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Morristown Township, Rice County, MN.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Dorothea Elizabeth "Dottie" was born on July 25, 1931 in Columbus, Neb. to Leo and Martha (Tiede) Southworth. She graduated from Albion High School in Nebraska in 1949. Dottie was a rural schoolteacher for seven years in Boone County, Neb. Later, she finished her undergraduate schooling in Social Work. She was a district manager for Avon for six years in Mason City, IA, and then continued as a store manager for various stores. She finished her graduate degree in Counseling and worked in St. Peter at the Minnesota Security Hospital. Dottie then was a social worker in Wantawan County in the St. James and Madelia areas for seven years. She married Duane "Red" Wondrow on November 2, 1985 at the First Lutheran Church in St. Peter, MN. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2000. Dottie enjoyed reading, crafting, and making sweatshirts. She was also involved in several political organizations.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Glorene Southworth of Faribault; seven nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Red; parents; and brother, Roger Southworth.
