DIANNE MAE BARTELT, age 79 of Waseca, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at her residence.
Born on August 23, 1936 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of George E. and Esther Mae (Fairley) Bauman.  She attended Waseca Central Middle School.   On March 28, 1953 she married James Bartelt and together they raised six angels/brats.  After their divorce in 1982, Dianne moved to Texas to be with her sister Arlene.  While in Texas she did home health care and house cleaning.  Fun Fact:   While in Texas, she was the Statue of Liberty in the American Legion 4th of July parade.  Dianne moved back to Waseca after being gone for 10 years.  She worked at Walters Cookbooks for six years and did home health care.  To pass the time, she also worked at the Olde Town Eatery.   She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking for Dennis and repairing clothes.   She loved reading and playing cribbage.  Dianne was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca and the American Legion Auxiliary for 34 years.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and socializing.   She passed away peacefully at her home and will be missed by all of us!
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Carol) Bartelt of Waseca, Douglas (Julie) Bartelt of Bixby, Cindy Kramer of Waseca, Pam (Lyle) Vaughan of Waseca, Becky Sommers of Waseca, and Lisa (James) Hayes of Waseca; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.    She is also survived by siblings, Ole (Carol) Bauman of Waseca, LaVoy Bauman of Waseca, Harlan Bauman of Washington, Gary Bauman of Waseca, and Georgette Hanson of Waseca; and sister-in-law, Gladys Bauman of Waseca.   She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Arlene Carlson; and brothers, Marlyn Bauman and Eugene Bauman. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at the Otisco Cemetery in Waseca County.  Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of services at the church.
