Dallas A. Lemmen

February 14, 1951 — December 24, 2020

DALLAS A. LEMMEN, age 69 of Waseca, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on February 14, 1951, Dallas was the son of Dallas and Mildred (Davis) Lemmen. Following his high school graduation he continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Years later he returned to school to earn his MBA from the University of St. Thomas. Over the years Dallas lived in Racine, WI, and Duluth before making his home in Waseca where he met his future wife. Dallas married Lori Freese on August 11, 1984 in Austin. Dallas was an outgoing, friendly person who made countless friends over the years while working in the accounting departments of E.F. Johnson and Christian Brothers Cabinets. After his retirement he drove for Lenz Bus Service for many more years, where he greatly enjoyed the young people he came to know. He was a long-time active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, and he volunteered on the trailer crew for the Waseca Marching Jays from 2000 until 2007. He loved reading, handyman projects, playing softball when he was younger, and spending time playing with his grandchildren.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Lori Lemmen of Waseca; three children, Jennifer (Corey) Menzer of Spokane, WA, Jacob Lemmen of Klamath Falls, OR, and Caitlin Redding of Marshall, MN; four grandchildren; his mother, Mildred White of Waseca; and his mother-in-law, Edna Freese of Waseca. He will also be remembered by six siblings, Aleta (Tom) Schell of CO, Teena Simmons of SD, Tim (Fran) Lemmen of KY, Jim Freese of CO, Sheryl (Delwin) Root of MN, and Karen Freese of MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father; father-in-law; and brother-in-law.

A public visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.

A private family funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffen officiating. Interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca at a later date.
