Conley 'Stony' Wilder August 28, 1941 - May 7, 2012

Conley A. "Stony" Wilder, age 70 of St. Clair, died suddenly on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Windom Area Medical Center in Windom. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 P.M. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Decoria Cemetery, Blue Earth County. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Conley Allyn was born on August 28, 1941 to Howard and Ottolene (Kane) Wilder in Kellogg, Idaho. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1959. Conley entered the U. S. Army National Guard and served his country from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1965. On October 23, 1971 he was united in marriage to Linda Steinberg in Armstrong, Iowa. Conley and Linda raised their family and resided in the St. Clair area their entire married life. For 23 years Conley worked as a heavy equipment operator for Brunz Construction of Madison Lake, and Carl Bolander & Sons of St. Paul. Later he drove truck for Page Trucking of Smiths Mill, Norsemen Trucking of Clear Lake, Iowa, Peterson Trucking of Mankato, hauled grain for area farmers, and drove school bus for Palmer Bus Service in St. Clair. He was a longtime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49. "Stony" retired in 2003 and enjoyed visiting with his friends at Uncle Alberts Caf in Eagle Lake. He loved hunting and fishing, and watching stock car races. Stony especially enjoyed time spent with his daughters and his granddaughter Morgan. He is survived by his daughters, Jean (Ronnie) Wilder and their daughter Morgan all of Windom; Dawn Wilder of Mankato; by his brother Ronald (Judy) Wilder of Clarkston, WA; by his sister, Marsha (David) Hiller of rural Mankato; by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife Linda on June 20, 1999. Casket bearers are: Farel Steinberg, Teri Schwalbach, Zachary Schwalbach, JR Coopman Jr., Andy Coopman and Ronnie Wilder. Honorary bearers are: Jerry Coopman Sr. and Gerald Johns.
