Clinton Weber November 9, 1904 - November 18, 2008

Clinton W. Weber, age 104, of Faribault, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Faribault, with Rev. David E. Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment will be prior to the services on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Clinton William Weber, the son of Fred W. and Clara H. (Wegner) Weber, was born on November 9, 1904 in Warsaw, MN. He graduated from Warsaw grade school in 1919 and Faribault High School in 1923, and then the United States Army Infantry School, Ft. Benning, GA in 1951. Clinton was a bookkeeper for the Faribault Woolen Mill Co. for 29 years. Then he was placed on permanent duty with the Minnesota National Guard until his retirement. Clinton had a lifetime of service in the Minnesota National Guard, enlisting at age 18 and mandatory retirement at age 60 as Command Sergeant Major. He was active during WWII serving in the Army Finance Dept. in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and the Army Infantry during the Korean War at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Among several awards, he was awarded the Minnesota National Guard Medal for Merit and two Commendation ribbons. As a youth, he joined Warsaw Methodist Church and in 1923 transferred to First Methodist Church (now Fourth Avenue Methodist) in Faribault, where he was active as an usher, with the finance committee, and secretary of the Sunday school among others. Clinton was a member of several organizations including: Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Rice County Historical Society, Rice County Humane Society, Republican National Committee, all Masonic bodies including York Rite and Scottish-Rite, Osman Temple Shrine, Faribault Rifle and Pistol Club, American Legion Post 43, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1562, Minnesota Rifle and Revolver Association, National Rifle Association of America, Military Historical Society of Minnesota, United States Army Infantry Museum Society, Retired Sergeants Major Association, Enlisted Association National Guard of the United States, River Bend Nature Center, and the National Sojourners. He is survived by his nieces, Mary (Fred) Brown of Aurora, CO, Susan (Walt) Thoms of Bloomington, MN, and Carol (Kelly) Johnson of Randall, MN; nephews, Marshall
