Clifford E. Caron, age 92, of Faribault, MN, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN following a brief illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to Divine Mercy Catholic Church in memory of Cliff.

Clifford Emmanuel Caron was born November 20, 1922, to Alexander and Kate (Chavie) Caron in Rice County, MN. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific and Japan, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant and supervising cleanup and weapons disposal efforts in Japan. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1946, Cliff returned to Faribault. He married Lorraine Kern on April 17, 1947, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Cliff worked at the GTA feed elevator from 1948 to 1984. In his spare time, Cliff enjoyed pitching horseshoes, square dancing and country dancing with Lorraine, making wood crafts to sell at the farmer''s market, hunting, fishing and playing cards. He also always loved spending time with his family and friends.

Cliff is survived by daughter, LaJune Troolin, and sons, Bernard (Cindy), James (Kathy), Daniel (Colleen), and Steven (JoAnn) all of Faribault; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Kuhlman, Bernadette (Don) Meehl, and Mercedes (Harry) Samuels; brother-in-law, Lloyd "Pat" Kern; close friends from the Senior Center and Trail''s

Edge Apartments; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; his parents; son-in-law, Ronald Troolin; two brothers, Donald and Richard Caron; and sister, Bernadine Johnson.
