Clarence 'Butch' Sammon April 6, 1942 - January 4, 2013

Clarence "Butch" Sammon, age 70 of Longville, MN and formerly of Faribault and Morristown, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Mankato, MN following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The family prefers that memorials be directed to the National Wild Turkey Association, DNR Firearms Safety Program and the SHE-IS Program in memory of Butch.

Clarence Gilbert, the son of Leo and Margaret (Fitzpatrick) Sammon, was born on April 6, 1942 in Faribault, MN. He attended Morristown High School and graduated with the class of 1960. After high school Butch served in the U.S. Air Force. After his service time Butch worked at various jobs including, Miller Motors, Milo Peterson Ford until he began working for ISD 656 for many years as a custodian at the schools. Butch was a member of several organizations including, the National Wild Turkey Association, DNR Firearm Safety Instructor, SHE-IS, the Steele County Mounted Posse and was a Special Deputy for the Rice County Sheriff Water Patrol on Fox Lake.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristi Ann Sammon of Oakley, CA and Mary Kay Sammon of Mankato, MN; by three siblings, Yvonne Kaderlik of Faribault, Richard (Betty) Sammon of Morristown, MN and Joe (Kay) Sammon of Waseca, MN; by his sister-in-law, Phyllis Sammon of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best four legged friend, Gauge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother in law, Ruthann and Lewis
