Charles A. "Charlie" Truax, age 63, of Medford, MN and formerly of Faribault, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Koda Living Community in Owatonna, MN, following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Charles Allen, the son of Gilbert and Helen (Mapes) Truax, was born on June 29, 1950 in Madelia, MN. Charles attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1968. After his schooling Charles worked at Crown Cork & Seal and then chose driving semi and continued this for 32 years. His beloved dog Kato traveled many years with him. He enjoyed when time allowed to sky dive and fish with his boyhood friend Don Barnett and grandson Ben. He also enjoyed hunting. After his retirement, he enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball and football for the Bethlehem Academy teams.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane Truax of Medford, MN; by two daughters, Jackie (Tim) Clark and Jayme Brooks, both of Faribault, MN; by 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; by his parents, Gilbert and Helen Truax of Faribault, MN; by his sister, Janet (Eugene) Freeman of Dundas, MN; by three brothers, Thomas (Mary) Truax and Gregory (Rhonda) Truax, both of Faribault and Gary Truax and friend Russell Faltersack of Robbinsdale, MN; by two stepsons, Jake Larson of Medford, MN and Foster Larson of Seattle, WA; by a stepdaughter, Raquel Bushman of Hutchinson, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Ann Erickson and by his grandparents.

The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff of Koda Living Community and Owatonna Hospice for their loving care.
