Carol J. Tousignant May 12, 1942 - June 25, 2014

Carol J. Tousignant, age 72, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her home following an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Carol Joyce Tatge was born on May 12, 1942 in Faribault to Earl and Mildred (Meyer) Tatge. She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1960. She was married to David Tousignant on April 12, 1961 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Together they raised six children and farmed in Wells Township for many years. David preceded her death on April 4, 2002. While raising her children, Carol also worked as a seamstress and busheller for many local clothiers, and sewed numerous dresses for weddings. Over the years she also worked for many local businesses including Hoffmann Printing, C & S Vending, On Target, and Rust Consulting. On January 31, 2003, she married Dennis Tousignant. Together they travelled to many destinations throughout the country. Volunteerism was a priority of Carol''s throughout her lifetime. She participated in many capacities through her children''s activities, farming related organizations, church and civic functions, among many others.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Faribault; her mother, Mildred Tatge of Faribault; six children, Daniel Tousignant of Faribault, Rochelle (Robert) Machacek of Eagan, MN, Brenda (John) Roach of Faribault, Robert (Kathy) Tousignant of Rosemount, MN, Eugene Tousignant of Virginia Beach, VA, and Timothy (Trish) Tousignant of Hastings; six step-children, Michael Tousignant of Faribault, Jim (Linda) Tousignant of Brainerd, MN, Julie (Joe) Splett of Elysian, MN, Nancy (Keith) Velzke of Morristown, Sue

(Carl) Morsching of Janesville, MN, Scott Tousignant (special friend, Barb) of New Mexico; 20 grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Jerry) Donkers Olson, Audrey (Steve) Temple, Luverne (Judy) Tatge, Barb (Jim) Zahn, Michael (Deb) Tatge, Bruce Tatge, Marvin (Mary) Tatge, Roxie (Steve) Deike, Rebecca Tatge, Randy (LeAnne) Tatge, all of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Tousignant; father, Earl Tatge; and brother, Ronald Tatge.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to Faribault Area Hospice, St. Vincent de Paul, or the donor''s choice in memory of Carol.
