Bonnie R. Skurkay October 3, 1947 - January 13, 2014

Bonnie R. Skurkay, age 66, of Waseca, died suddenly on Monday, January 13, 2014, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca, with Father Gregory Leif, officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Arrangements are being completed by the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca.

Bonnie Rae, the daughter of Raymond and Lucille (Siegfried) Kensik, was born on October 3, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Avon Lake High School and graduated with the class of 1965. Following high school, Bonnie lived in the Cleveland area for a short time before moving to the Minneapolis area. It was there she met her longtime significant other, Carl Tollefson and began helping him with real estate development. She enjoyed working with him and her son Jason on many construction projects throughout Minnesota. They later moved to Waseca where they continued to work and enjoy life together.

Bonnie was a woman of courage and wisdom. She never hesitated to check on others to make sure they were ok even when she was faced with many health problems. She enjoyed being creative whether it be making her children''s clothes when they were young or helping with the design and decorating process of the model homes they built. Most of all, Bonnie cherished every moment she was able to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Bonnie will be remembered for her generosity, her caring heart, and her willingness to help others.

She is survived by her significant other of many years, Carl Tollefson of Waseca; her children, Kimberly Skurkay of Waseca and son, Tyrus Stanton (16), John Skurkay of Panama City, FL, and Jason (Heidi) Skurkay and daughter, Annabelle (6) of Faribault. She is also survived by Carl''s children and grandchildren, Cory Tollefson and children Christina and Michael, and Jamie Tollefson, both of Owatonna; her beloved dog, Bailey; her special friend and caretaker, Julie Frank of Waseca, her niece, Angela Matsumura and nephew Ken Kensik, and by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother Ronald Kensik.
