Betty J. Burdick June 25, 1929 - December 1, 2013

Betty J. Burdick, age 84, of Waseca, MN, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Roger Haug, pastor, officiating.

Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Waseca on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Betty June Holst was born on June 25, 1929 in Lake City, MN to Ezra and Maude (Heldt) Holst. She graduated from Lake City High School. She worked at a restaurant in Red Wing, MN and a coat factory in Lake City before moving to Waseca 50 years ago. She then worked at Brown Printing and Birds Eye before working at E.F. Johnson for over 25 years until her retirement. She also managed apartment buildings until suffering a stroke four years ago. Betty enjoyed crocheting, reading, walking her dog, playing cards, and most of all caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Glander) Easley and husband Paul of Sarasota, FL, Penny (Glander) Anderson and husband David of Waseca, Jeffery Burdick and wife Sarah of Jamestown, NY, Jordan Burdick and wife Lisa of Waseca, and Lloyd Burdick of Waseca; grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, Tyrel Anderson (and Mary), Moriah Burdick, Katie Burdick, and Samantha Burdick; step-grandchildren, Josiah Isder (and Bonnie), Makayla Selvik (and Clint), Alexander Cassidy, and Samuel Cassidy; step great grandsons, Avery, Jace, and Jaxon Selvik; sister, Gladys Kolb of Austin, MN; sister-in-law, Shirley Burdick of Waseca; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pearl Halpaus; and grandchildren, Christine Marie Cathcart, and Heather Joy Cathcart.
