Avis Annola Wobschall, 92, died on December 12, 2018, at Lakeshore Inn in Waseca, Minn. from complications due to a stroke. 
 
The 9th of 11 children, Avis was born on August 17th, 1926 to Clara and Gerhard Hatle on their New Richland family farm. 
Avis was baptized at Le Sueur River Lutheran Church, confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church-New Richland and graduated from New Richland High School in 1945. 
Following graduation, she attended and graduated from Mankato Business College.   Her first job was at the EF Johnson Company of Waseca where she met Glenn Wobschall.  They were married in 1947 and celebrated 66 years together. 
Avis was an avid bridge player, talented quilter, seamstress and knitter, cook extraordinaire, lefse and Norwegian sweets baker, community volunteer, Waseca American Legion Auxiliary member and twice president, Rebecca Lodge member and officer and member of the Sons of Norway.  She loved reading and attending any fine arts productions.    
Avis belonged to Grace Lutheran Church; she sang in the church choir for over 35 years, taught Sunday school, belonged to the ladies auxiliary Bible studies, and helped with numerous mother-daughter and Christmas programs.
Avis was particularly proud of her Norwegian heritage, and in 1986, she and Glenn traveled to Norway to discover family genealogy and visit relatives. 
Avis is survived by daughter Karen (Clark) Swenson of Buffalo; son Dane (Claudia) Wobschall of Waseca; grandchildren, Mara Swenson, of Buffalo, Grant (Melany) Swenson of St Augusta, Leif (Jenna) Swenson of Minnetonka, Brittany Wobschall of South St Paul, Megan Wobschall of Rochester; 7 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Other survivors include sisters, Elaine Johnson of New Richland, Edith Hansen of Washington State, Ruth Strand of Albert Lea, and nephew and family genealogist, Rodney (Carolyn) Hatle of Owatonna, and 31 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn, brothers Orvin (Alice), Wesley (Edna), Clair, infant Arnold, and Herbert Hatle; sisters Evelyn Foley and Rebecca Stephenson; brothers-in-law Lloyd Johnson, Lyle Strand, John Hansen, Charles Stephenson and Ray Foley and several nieces and nephews. 
The family would like to thank Lakeshore Inn of Waseca and Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice for the loving care they gave to Avis. 
Funeral Services will be at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM with an hour visitation prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to go to Grace Lutheran Church, their food shelf or your charity of choice. 
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
