ARTHUR M. WETZEL, age 74 of Morristown died on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.
Born on July 23, 1945 in Faribault, Minnesota, he was the son of Frank and Agnes (Ebert) Wetzel.  He attended country school in Elysian Township through the 5th grade before graduating from Waterville High School in 1963.  He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until his discharge in 1967.  Art married Ruth Primeau on October 15, 1966 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.  Early in their marriage, he worked several jobs before working 18 years for Deli Express.  He retired in 2013 after 17 years with Plunketts Pest Control.  He also drove school bus for the WEM district for many years.   Art was active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville where he served as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, and on the Board of Finance.  He was also a member of the American Legion in Elysian.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Morristown; two children, Troy (Aubrey) Wetzel of Waterville and Anna (Terry) Meschke of Morristown; AFS son and daughter, Claudio Delfabro of Argentina and Jasmin (Al) Harmon of Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Carsen Wetzel and fiancé Kaine Hanson, Adam Wetzel, Claire and Natalie Elness, Benjamin, Leah, and Gabriel Meschke and McKenzi Harmon.  He is also survived by one brother, Jim (Karen) Wetzel of Big Fork; nephews, Edward Wetzel of Texas and Joseph (Christina) Wetzel of Wyoming; and niece, Linda (Bart) McCully of Maryland.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; and niece, Sarah Burgin.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4-7 PM and continue on Friday, one hour before services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.  Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
