Arnold 'Arnie' Waligoski April 25, 1935 - January 19, 2014

Arnold J. Waligoski, age 78, of Waseca, died peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the Colony Court Memory Care and Care Suites in Waseca.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca, with Father Gregory Leif, officiant. Private family interment will be held at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church.

Arnold Joseph, the son of Nickolas and Emily (Bukosky) Waligoski, was born on April 25, 1935, in Andover, South Dakota. He attended high school in Webster, South Dakota and graduated with the class of 1954. Following high school, Arnie enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was later granted an honorable discharge in 1958. He then continued his education in printing and pre-press. On July 1, 1961, he was united in marriage to Alice Gronke at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grenville, South Dakota. They later moved to the Waseca area in 1967 where he began his thirty- plus year career at Brown Printing.

Arnie enjoyed playing horseshoes, dancing and was also very involved with Boy Scouts as a Master. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 228, Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 2768, Waseca Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3753, and the Church of the Sacred Heart, all in Waseca.

He is survived by his wife, Alice of Waseca; his children, Mark Waligoski of Waseca, Michael (Valory) Waligoski of Waconia, Jenifer Waligoski of Minneapolis, Steven Waligoski of Savage, and Kimberly (Stephen) Pierson of Farmington; his grandchildren, Jerica Waligoski, Jedrek Waligoski, Jessa Waligoski, William Pierson, and Maximus Pierson; his sisters, Ann Haselhorst and Elizabeth Lipp; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
