Andrew Keller March 5, 1917 - February 5, 2011

Andrew Harold Keller, age 93, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault after a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Fort Snelling Nation Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and on Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the River Bend Nature Center, Paradise Center for the Arts, or Faribault Area Hospice in memory of Harold. Andrew Harold Keller, the son of Andrew Joseph & Mary (LeBlanc) Keller was born on March 5, 1917 in Faribault. He graduated from the Faribault Senior High School with the class of 1935. He then worked at Andrews Nursery, Lyons Shoe Store, JCPenney, and S & L Store. He also had served in the Minnesota State Guard. On September 17, 1940, he was united in marriage to Majorie Ann Kroenke at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later received honorable discharge in April 1946. After his military service, Harold worked in his father''s grocery store Keller''s Grocery, and later began working at Gopher Shooting Supply, where he retired after 38 years of dedicated service. Harold was a member of the American Legion Post 43, Knights of Columbus Council 889, Noon Exchange Club and was a Past-President of the club, Faribault Rifle and Pistol Club, National Rifle Association, and Izaak Walton League. He was an avid sportsman and later in life an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Majorie of Faribault; two children, Michael (Michele) Keller of Seattle, Wash., and Ann (Wes) Judkins of North Mankato; daughter-in-law, Anne Keller of Longmont, Col.; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andrew D. Keller; sister, Marion Doody; and a son in infancy, Mark.
