Alvin L. Rudolph, age 93, of Janesville, died peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Interment will be held at the St. John''s-Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, Alvin''s family request donations be made to Mayo Clinic Hospice, the Janesville Nursing Home, or to the donor''s choice.

Arrangements are being completed by the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville.

Alvin Loren, the only son of Hermann and Louise (Flitter) Rudolph, was born on July 10, 1920 at the family farm in Iosco Township, Waseca County. He was baptized on August 1, 1920 and confirmed on April 14, 1935, both at the St. John''s Lutheran Church in Iosco Township. On May 2, 1942, he was united in marriage to Melba Fischer, also at the St. John''s Lutheran Church. They made their home on Alvin''s family farm where they continued to farm until moving into town in 1980. Melba later preceded him in death in 1989. He enjoyed delivering the Home magazine with Raymond Manthe for many years after moving into town. Alvin was also very dedicated to volunteering his time both at Trinity Lutheran Church and also throughout Janesville. He enjoyed delivering recorded church services to the shut-ins, was instrumental in bringing Braille into church, and also enjoyed being very involved with the St. John''s-Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery for many years. Alvin also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins.

Alvin is survived by his sister, Bernice Rudolph of Janesville; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and by his infant twin children.
