Alvin M. Kopischke, age 90 of Janesville, died on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16th at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the St. John''s Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Iosco Township, Waseca County. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service at Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are being completed by Arnoldt- McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory in Janesville. Alvin Mervin was born December 8, 1921 in Janesville Township, Waseca County, Minnesota to Charles and Adeline (Boettcher) Kopischke. He was baptized January 8, 1922 and confirmed April 14, 1935, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Alvin was united in marriage on October 17, 1945 to Dorothy Lorraine Mittelstaedt at St. John''s Lutheran Church in Iosco Township. Alvin and Dorothy raised their family on their Alton Township farm. After farming for 29 years, Alvin and Dorothy moved into Janesville where Alvin worked for the Janesville Creamery from 1975 to 1983. He was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville where he had served as an elder, and was active in the Trinity Seniors. He was also a member of the Smiths Mill-Janesville Sportsman''s Club. Alvin is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Janesville; by his daughters, Linda (Richard) Thesing of Rochester, Norma (James) Fury of Janesville, and Diane (Chester) Bilgo of Plymouth, WI; by his 7 grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Thesing, Kristin Mehring, Matthew Fury, Jennifer (Chris) Walz, Brent (Jennifer) Fury, Sara (Dan) Smith, and Todd Bilgo, and his 11 great grandchildren; by his sisters-in-law, Delilah Kopischke of Janesville, Marcella Kopischke of Mankato, and Marvel Miller of Waseca; by his brother- in-law, Eldor Mittelstaedt of Waseca; by many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers, Edward (Agnes) Kopischke, Arthur Kopischke, Paul Kopischke, and Louis (Violet "Tootie") Kopichke. Casket bearers are his grandsons; Matthew Fury, Chris Walz, Brent Fury, Jason Thesing, Dan Smith and Todd Bilgo. Honorary bearers are his granddaughters; Stephanie Thesing, Kristin Mehring, Jennifer Walz, Jennifer Fury and Sara Smith.
