ALICE E. WOLFE, age 88 of Waseca, died on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Sterling House in Mankato. Born in Otisco Township, Waseca County on July 26, 1921, Alice was the daughter of Henry J. and Anna M. (Markmann) Rosenau. Alice attended rural Waseca County school and later worked at E.F. Johnson Company in Waseca. On May 12, 1946, Alice married Lawrence Edward Wolfe at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Meriden. Together they farmed the family farm in Otisco Township and built their own home on the farmstead property. In addition to raising five children, she also was a caregiver to her sisters, brother and parents. She enjoyed raising cats, watching birds, gardening, canning, playing cards with her card club, square dancing, playing bingo and enjoying friends at Sterling House, and being with family. She is survived by her children, Pam (Mark) Erickson of Mankato, Bruce Wolfe of Waseca, Lana (Ray) Glynn of Mankato, Wendy (Rick) Pearson of Mankato, and Brian Wolfe and (Pam Robbins) of Waseca; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great-granchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Vera Wolfe of Owatonna, and Leona (Harold) Minske of Waseca; and one niece, Ruth Ann (Dave) Indykiewicz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, two brothers, and five sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Meriden, with Rev. Gary Rusinko officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Meriden. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. |
