ROSE ETTA WERTH, age 89 of Waterville, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.
Born in Elysian Township, Le Sueur County, on January 14, 1919, Rose was the daughter of Louis and Rose (Ellingsworth) Nahlovsky. She attended school in Elysian. On October 23, 1937, she married Loren Werth at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church. They lived in Rosemount during WWII, and later moved back to Loren’s family farm. In 1951, they moved into Elysian, and following her husband’s death in 1981, Rose moved into the city of Waterville. Known to all of her friends and family as “Toots,” she was a member of St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church, and was a past member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing cards and games, baking, and fishing.
Rose is survived by three children, Wayne (Grace) Werth of Owatonna, Bonnie (Fritz) Cummins of Waterville, and Sue (Allan) Holicky of LeCenter; one sister-in-law, Elda Young of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 7, 2008 at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church in Le Sueur County, with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Monday at the church. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. |
