Ardella Volkman

ARDELLA ANN VOLKMAN, age 72 of Waterville died on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

Born on February 15, 1938 in Waterville, Minnesota she was the daughter of Dan and Grace (Saack) Radcliff.  She graduated from Waterville High School.  Ardella’s first job was selling tickets at the GEM Theater in Waterville.  She later worked for Brown Printing in Waseca.  Ardella married Ray Volkman on September 3, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.  Ardella helped with the family business, Volkman Electric, for many years.  Ardella enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, flower gardening – especially her roses, and going for coffee.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her husband, Ray of Waterville; four children, Keith Volkman of Waterville, Steve and Laura Volkman of New Hope, Lynette Volkman of Mankato, and David and Amber Volkman of Waterville; eight grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters, Marlene and Walt Hill of Waseca and Joan Stahmann of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Kathleen.

Visitation will be held at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Monday, December 20, 2010 from 4-8 PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating.  Burial will follow at Sakatah Cemtery in Waterville.  Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, or to a recipient of the donor’s choice.
