FERNE D. THURSDALE, age 92 of Waseca, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca. 

Born on May 13, 1918 in Waseca County, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Eugene and Catherine (O’Neil) Parrish.  Ferne attended school in rural Waseca County before graduating from Waseca High School in 1935.  She then attended Normal School and taught country school for a time.  She later worked at the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca.  Ferne married Daniel Thursdale on August 28, 1947 in Owatonna.  She worked as a homemaker for many years and later did payroll for Mishek’s until poor eyesight forced her to retire.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, and painting.  She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.

She is survived by one son, Wayne (Barbara) Thursdale of Waseca; five grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two brothers, Lyle (Delores) Parrish of Owatonna and Eugene (Mavis) Parrish of Albert Lea; one sister-in-law, Frieda Parrish of Albert Lea and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother-Randall, and one great grandson-Dakota.

Visitation will be at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 4-8-PM and continue on Monday one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Debra Collum officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  Memorials are preferred to Gillette Children’s Hospital-St. Paul or Infants Remembered in Silence-Faribault.
