RAYMOND WARREN SUTTER, age 83 of Waseca died on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas.
Born in Waseca County on May 31, 1926, Ray was the son of George and Elma (Hagen) Sutter. He attended country school District # 3-44 (the double school) in Waseca County. After school he farmed with his dad before moving to California where he worked in Hayward. He moved back to Waseca where he worked for Dahle Tiling. Ray was married to Dorathea Borchardt Lee on October 1, 1954, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed together and he worked at Birds Eye, and later at Owatonna Manufacturing building Mustang Skid Loaders. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, RV camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of North Waseca Lutheran Church, the Winnehahas, Sundowners, Northwoods and the Southern Honkers RV Camping Clubs. Ray will best be remembered for his sense of humor, his quick wit, his gentle caring spirit, his love of children and his joy of spending time with his family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Dorathea of Waseca; one daughter Cheryl (Dan) Forrest of Burnsville; one grandson, Sean Forrest of Seattle, WA; one granddaughter, Meghan (Yuuki Metreaud) Forrest of Ely; and two great-granddaughters Olivia Jorgensen and Nichole Forrest both of Maize, KS. He is also survived by brothers Robert (Jane) Sutter of Pine Island, Mason Sutter of Lander, WY, and Paul (Marion) Sutter of Owatonna; brother and sisters-in-law Jean Sutter of Gilbert, AZ, Donna Dahle of Morristown, Beverly and Marvin Wadd of Waseca, Dan and Pat Borchardt of Shelton WA; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, George and Gene Sutter.
Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Funeral Home in Waseca on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM at North Waseca Lutheran Church in Waseca County with Pastor Nancy Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, the North Waseca Perpetual Cemetery Fund, or donor's choice.
Ray’s pain is gone and now he may rest in peace with God "'til we meet again." |
