Mabel A. Steck
MABEL A. STECK, age 69 of Waseca died Monday, July 13, 2009 at her residence in Waseca.
Born in Waseca, Minnesota on August 15, 1939, she was the daughter of Louis and Adeline (Brigger) Schwarz. She attended rural School District #39 and graduated from Minnesota Lake High School. Mabel married John Steck on December 19, 1959 at St. John's Lutheran Church-Danville in rural Minnesota Lake. Over the years Mabel worked at the Dairy Queen, waitressed at the Pheasant Cafe, worked for Steck’s Tax Service as well as did babysitting. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, Mrs. Jaycees, Bridge Club, and a bowling team.
She is survived by one son, Doug (Lynn) Steck; one daughter, Patti (Curtis) Tesch both of Waseca; four grandchildren, Brian and Jason Tesch and Chris and Michael Steck; and two step-grandchildren, Bill and Joe Raimann. She is also survived by her mother, Adeline Schwarz of Waseca; one brother, Maynard (Norma) Schwarz of Minnesota Lake and one sister, Mary Jane (Les) Foreman of Silver Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and husband.
Visitation will be at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 4-8 PM and continue on Monday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
