Violet L. Sell

VIOLET LOUISE SELL, age 84 of Medford, formerly of Waterville, died on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

 

Born in Waterville on April 8, 1927, Violet was the daughter of Earl and Carolyn “Carrie” (Michael) Beavens.  As a young woman she attended school in Waterville before returning home to care for her younger brothers.  Violet married Lester H. Sell on September 27, 1945 in Janesville.  Together they lived in and around the Waterville area for the rest of their lives.  Primarily a homemaker and mother, Violet did spend several years working for Jerome Foods in Faribault, and later she worked nights at Brown Printing in Waseca.  She enjoyed playing bingo and word find puzzles.  Violet was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waterville, and a former member of both the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.  

 

Violet is survived by her children, Donna Bruske of Waterville, David (Esther) Sell of Waterville, Robert Sell of Pennsylvania, and Gary (Allin) Sell of Medford; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; one son, Lester Sell; and one son-in-law, Loren Bruske.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waterville with Rev. Cindy Kennedy officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville.
