Alvin L. Schultz

ALVIN L. SCHULTZ, age 82 of rural Owatonna died on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.

 

Born on October 22, 1927 on the home farm in Lemond Township, Steele County, Minnesota he was the son of Herman and Minnie (Schmanski) Schultz.  He attended school in Lemond Township, Steele County and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Steele County.  Alvin married Helen Iverson on October 4, 1950 at the Methodist church in Waseca.  He farmed organically his entire life and had also raised organic cows, chickens and eggs.  Alvin helped Helen with the egg delivery routes and they also delivered the shopper throughout Steele and Waseca counties and the surrounding area for about 25 years.  He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.

 

He is survived by his wife, Helen of rural Owatonna; three children, Nancy (John) Karas of Duluth, Glen (Connie) Schultz of Waseca, and Larry (Cindy) Schultz of Owatonna; and 14 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters-Anna Sable and Helen Kruesel, and one brother-Ewald Schultz.

 

Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 4-8 PM and continue on Saturday, one hour before services at the church.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Grace Baptist Church in Owatonna.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
