GERTRUDE HELEN RUDOLPH, age 85, died on Monday, September 26, 2011 at her home in Waseca. Born in Mitchell County, Iowa on September 16, 1926, Gertrude was the daughter of Gilbert and Olga (Framstad) Lee. She graduated from high school in Plymouth, Iowa before studying at Luther and Waldorf College where she attained a degree in Education. Following college she taught 3rd grade for sixteen years, primarily in Iowa. She married Donald Rudolph on August 12, 1962 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in St. Mary Township, Waseca County. She later worked at Brown Printing in Waseca for about twenty years. Gertrude enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and reading. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, where she was a member of the Cotta Guild and 29ers and had served as a youth group leader for many years. Gertrude is survived by three children, Dale (Pam) Rudolph of Waseca, LeAnn (Dean) Hildebrandt of Victoria, and Mark Rudolph of Mankato; four grandsons, Zach and Andrew Hildebrandt and Nicholas and Jared Rudolph; and one sister, Bernice (Adrian) Nolte of Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Carl Lee. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Waseca County.
