MONNA FAE “BONNIE” POWELL, age 85 of Waseca died on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on August 11, 1925 in Waseca, Minnesota she was the daughter of Irving and Lucille (Karsten) Schaumkessel.  She graduated from Waseca High School in 1943.  After high school, she worked as a telephone operator until marrying Eugene Powell at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA on August 12, 1946.  She then worked as a homemaker.  She enjoyed playing organ, painting and sewing.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Paniagua of Goodyear, AZ and one granddaughter, Laura Paniagua of Brenham, TX.  She is also survived by one sister, Helen “Pat” Patzner of Waseca.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Debra Jene Collum officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
