LAWRENCE “LARRY” PEMBLE, age 59 of Elysian was escorted to heaven by St. Joseph on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.
Born on November 3, 1950 in Mankato, Minnesota he was the son of Harry and Catherine (Weber) Pemble. He attended school in Elysian and graduated from Waterville-Elysian High School in 1969. Following his schooling, Larry worked in construction before entering the US Army in 1970. While in the service, he was stationed at Fort Bliss Texas and at Fort Riley, Kansas until his honorable discharge in 1971. He worked doing road construction and masonry work and had also worked as a machinist at Lake Country Sales and Gear & Broach. Larry was an avid sportsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Most of all he enjoyed life to the fullest. He was affectionately referred to as “Uncle Larry.”
He is survived by his special godchild, Nick Fischer of Elysian; sister, Mary Jo (Bill) Nikoley of Elysian; sister-in-law, Marge (Al) Pemble-Wenker of Albany; brother, Harold (Ginger) Pemble of Watertown, WI; sister, Vickie Johnson of Kasota; sister, Harriet Hager of Mankato; brother, Philip (Ardie) Pemble of Kelsey; sister, Charlotte Blaschko of Le Center; brother, Mark Pemble of Silver Bay; brother, Jim (Sandy) Pemble of Waterville; sister, Karen (Tom) Gohla of Mankato; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-Dave.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian with Deacon Dan Wesley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. Visitation will be held on Saturday, one hour before services at the church. |
