Lawrence (Larry) James Nicholson, 56, of Waseca completed his journey
with us on August 6, 2010, at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna,
MN, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born on August 11, 1953 in Westbrook, Minnesota. He moved with
his family first to Waterville and then to Morristown where Larry
attended school. He graduated in 1971. During his lifetime, Larry
attended Dunwoody computer drafting school, and was in the marines. Larry
held various jobs involving engineering drafting, sales, and farming.
An active member of both a 12-step program and Faith United Methodist
Church, Larry found and demonstrated support, forgiveness, understanding,
and dignity. Each day he chose to let God lead him, living his years in
recovery with deliberate good intention and love. His friendship is
already missed.
His parents, Lilian Annie and James Lawrence Nicholson preceded him in
death. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters: Thomas (Lyn)
Nicholson of Garden Grove, California, Michael Nicholson of Waseca,
Minnesota, Patricia (James) Makepeace of Rice, Minnesota, and Carol
Nicholson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and six children. He is also
survived by extended relatives, and many loving and supportive friends,
including his special friend Tina England.
Larry's body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at Faith
United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00, Reverend
Debra Jene Collum officiating, social gathering one hour prior to the
service and light lunch will follow. |
