DALYS “TINY” NEIDT, age 88 of Waseca, died on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Mission Nursing Home in Plymouth.
Born on June 4, 1922 in Waseca, MN, he was the son of Albert and Ellen (Anderson) Neidt. He attended school in Waseca graduating in 1940. Dalys then entered the U.S. Army-Air Force serving his country during WWII. Following his discharge he returned to Waseca and worked at the E.F. Johnson Company. He married Ardice Mundahl in February of 1947 in Kenyon. They lived in Waseca and through the years he worked for the U.S. Post Office, Birdseye Division of General Foods and City of Waseca Park Service. He also worked as a custodian for the Waseca Public School, owned and operated a gas station in Owatonna and later retired from E.F. Johnson Company. He enjoyed collecting and writing poetry and had some of his work published. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of VFW and the Military Order of the Cootie all in Waseca.
He is survived by his wife Ardice of Waseca; sons, Dennis (Vicki) Neidt of Waseca and Paul (Connie) Neidt of Shakopee; four grandchildren, Brian Neidt, Elizabeth & Jeff Linders, Michael (Heidi) Neidt, and Julie Neidt; one great granddaughter, Zoey Neidt; two sisters, Audrey (Harold) Schmidt and Romelle (Robert) Deef both of Waseca and sister-in-law, Millicent Neidt (Gordon Diesch) of Waseca. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-Daryl “Pete” Neidt, Norman “Pinky” Neidt and Glen Neidt, sisters-Anna Geier and Nadine Phelps; half brother- Gervace “Dude” Neidt.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca with Barbara Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. |
