Elizabeth A. Moen

ELIZABETH ANN MOEN, age 20 of Mankato, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 15, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Liz was born with a brain aneurysm which was unknown until her unexpected death.  As a result of this tragic loss, Liz was able to give the gift of life through organ donation which was her wish.  Because of Liz’s generosity, another 20 year old woman will live on with her heart.  In addition, three other lives have been changed.  This is just one example of Liz’s loving and kind spirit that everyone loved so much.

Born in Dallas, Texas on February 1, 1988, Elizabeth was the daughter of John Moen and Becky Joecks.  She attended and graduated from Mankato East High School, and had most recently been working in the Medical Records Department at the Mankato Clinic.  She had also been previously employed with the “World for Tots & Scholars” as a childcare provider.  She enjoyed reading, her pets, music, art, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.  She was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato.

Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Becky Joecks of Mankato; her father, John (Theresa) Moen of Owatonna; three step-brothers, Shane (Lynette) Gray of Owatonna, Travis (Amy) Gray of Wellington, FL, and Wade Gray of Owatonna; her maternal grandparents, Dale and Judy Joecks of New Richland; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Moen of Owatonna; aunts and uncles, Todd (Denise) Joecks of New Richland, Gail Joecks of St. Louis Park, Bonita Crosser (Richard Lambert) of Houston, TX, Diane Moen of Owatonna, Janet (Fred) Jesgarz of Mannistee, MI, Jerry (Julie) Moen of Lonsdale, and Paul (Karrie) Moen of Owatonna; and several cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Milton Moen.

Visitation will be held at the Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 4-7 PM, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church.

Funeral services will be held at the Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Community Cemetery in Waldorf.
