DORIS M. MILLER, age 92 of Waterville, died on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center. Born on July 5, 1918 in Rice County, Minnesota, Doris was the daughter of Jesse and Julia (Fritz) Butler. She attended country school and later graduated from Waterville High School in 1937. On November 14, 1944, Doris was married to Arnold Miller at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. She spent her life as a homemaker who enjoyed her family and friends, cooking, dancing, traveling, camping, and playing cards. She was an active member of St. Canice Catholic Church, and had served on the Rosary Society for many years. She was also a member of the Kilkenny American Legion, the Faribault Eagle’s Club, the Waterville Senior Citizen’s group, and Home Extension. She and her husband Arnold had celebrated nearly sixty years of marriage before Arnold’s death on November 5, 2004. Doris is survived by three children: Dennis (Mavis) Miller of Waterville, Suzanne (Jerry) Lewis of Waseca, and Kathy (Steve) Wesley of Waterville; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeremy) Henninger, Dan (Dawn) Miller, Alex (Gina) Wesley, and Stefanie (Aaron) Adams; six great-grandchildren, Tanner and Brooklyn Henninger, Jesse, Carson, and Caden Miller, and Quinn Wesley; one brother, Gordon (Margaret) Butler of Morristown; one sister, Violet Sorgatz of Faribault; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Vangie Miller of Kilkenny; and sister-in-law Eloise Butler of Waseca. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Arnold; and one brother, Alvin Butler. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville, and will continue for one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny, with Rev. Cory Rohlfing officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Kilkenny.
